Baseball Splits with West Chester

WEST CHESTER--Chris Tressler (Lewistown/Lewistown) went 3-3 with a double and triple and drove in three runs to lead the Bloomsburg University baseball to an 8-3 win over West Chester in game one of its doubleheader on Friday. The Golden Rams won the nightcap 10-3.

In game one, Keenan McCann (Hanover Twp/Hanover) got the Huskies going with RBI in the fourth inning. In the fifth, Tressler and Tyler Gansner (Lancaster/Lampeter-Strasburg) each had RBI singles, while in the sixth Tressler doubled home two runs to Huskies a 7-2 lead. In all the Huskies banged out 14 hits in the game. On the mound Chace Phillips (Milton/Milton) picked up the win by going the first 5 2/3 innings.

In game two, Rich Letts (Parkesburg/Octorara) went 3-3 with two RBI, but West Chester scored eight runs over three innings to break open a 2-2 game and go on to the win.

Bloomsburg goes to 12-29, 5-9 in the PSAC East, while West Chester goes to 35-8, 9-5 in the PSAC East. The two teams meet at Bloomsburg on Saturday at 1 p.m.
